Obituary of Mr. Placido Madeira

Obituary and Invitation (Placido Madeira – March 21, 1933 – March 26, 2022).

Is it with great sadness that we announce the passing of Placido Madeira on March 26, 2022. Placido died peacefully in the arms of his family and friends in his home. He is loved and will be greatly missed by his devoted wife, Olga, and children, Daryl (Mary Kay) and Cheryl-Ann (Bill). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Gabriella, Sophia, and Evangelina, and Charles and the late Alexander . He loved his dear brother, Leo Madeira (Sarah), and sisters the late Helen Franco (late Voluziano), and the late Effie (Joe) Moraes. He leaves many nieces and nephews, and many friends. Placido was born in Siolim, Goa, India, and lived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Africa, before spending the majority of his life in Toronto, Ontario. He loved sports. He had trained for the National Tanzanian track team, played soccer, and played G.O.A. club field hockey. He was also an avid musician, playing the accordion, violin, and guitar. Everyone will remember him for his enthusiasm on the dance floor. Placido’s true passion was his family - he was always there for them. He had a kind soul and a strong faith.
