Obituary of Mrs. Donna Westman

Please share a memory of Mrs. Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Mrs. Donna Edith Westman on March 17th, 2022. Loving daughter to the late Thomas and Gwendolyn Robins, sister to Thomas Robins and Gary Robins, and the late Margaret Downs and the late Linda Ziebarth. Beloved mother of Lisa Westman (Russ Brooker), Tanya Pollock (Dave Pollock) and Krisinda Westman. Beloved 'Na-na' to Garrett Addison, Morgan Addison and Chloe Westman. Former wife of 33 years to Wayne Westman.

Donna, born in East York on April 22, 1942 and having lived most of her life in Scarborough, Ontario, was a devoted mother of three girls, a loving wife, daughter, sister, 'Na-na' and long-standing friend to many. Donna had a wonderful sense of humour, a kind and generous heart, a passion for dancing and an unwavering dedication to Alpha House and all of those who walked through Alpha's doors, where she served as Executive Director for close to 20 years.

Diagnosed with Dementia in 2018 and Alzheimer's disease shortly thereafter, Donna moved into Douglas Crossing Retirement Home in Uxbridge on March 6th, 2020. With the pandemic in full swing and an outbreak at the Retirement Home, being isolated in her room and away from family took its toll on Donna and her disease. Sadly, after a fierce battle with Alzheimer's, Donna died peacefully surrounded by the exceptionally caring staff at Douglas Crossing Retirement Home. Our deepest gratitude to everyone who took such wonderful care of our 'Donna Dew' (Danielle, Kaitlyn, Michelle, Denise, Rose, Liz, Leeanne, Sumalee, Brenna, Emma and all). Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Known for her spunk, impeccable style, kindness, sense of humour, affinity for animal print and her two-step, Donna will be dearly missed and never forgotten. Forever in our hearts ❤❤❤
