Obituary of Mr. Walter Joseph Offenbacher

Walter Joseph Offenbacher passed away on Tuesday, March 15 at Scarborough General
Hospital surrounded by his immediate and loving family. Born in Munich, Germany in1943
Walter and his family immigrated to Canada settling in Montreal and later Toronto.
Walter had worked for the Ontario Ministry of Environment as a Scientific Laboratory for well
over 25 years as a Technologist retiring in 2000.
Walter was a master woodworker and musician creating custom guitars and furniture as well as
playing several instruments in his Polka band. In his spare time he contributed to St. Timothy’s
Church in Scarborough where he helped repair distressed furniture to those in need as well as
providing direction and encouragement to his friends and colleagues.
Walter leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years Norma, two sons Robert and Timothy, four
grandchildren Emily, Mitchell, Matthew, Michael, as well as his last surviving sister Madeline
Yonelines, her husband Edward Yonelines and sister-in-law Martha Offenbacher.
