Tribute to Elridge
Did you know Elridge? He was a cheerful, hardworking, selfless person. He gave help and he cared. He shared what he had. He cared for his children, family, and friends whether in Barbados or Canada.
If you think the above adjectives are plenteous, I can add much more like loving, thoughtful, e.t.c. and when he came to know Jesus, they were multiplied. He walked up and down many malls or stores straight and upright as he did his job. Many loved that tall smiling guy who would discipline many who were stealing where he worked and say, “Do you know that that is stealing and God sees?” Although he was cursed and threatened, he still bought that thief a meal or gave money for a cab or food. Do you still think you knew him?
He would share Bible verses with those who stopped to listen, tell them what he learned about Jesus, and take their cells and put Bible chapters for them to read. God bless those that took the time to read, who did not know him.
For me, like the Rich Man and Lazarus, Elridge cannot go to his brethren to warn them of the wrath to come. Remember what he taught you; Jesus would multiply what you have.
For those that accused him of being what he was not, or of being obsessive with the Bible, be warned! Remember...be an Elridge.
God called him home quietly on January 15th, 2022.
Love,
Gay Gibson

Our deepest condolences to to the family of Mr Elridge Scantlebury known to us and many as Pawee,. He was one that love and lived life to its fullest especially when he made Jesus Christ his Lord and savior. He loved his children dearly and to them he was the number one dad in the world. Wherever he went and whoever he met he spoke highly of God and shared his knowledge in converrsation. We were privileged to see him a few years ago and boy was it a blessing to see him , what a significant transformation. Thank God for the opportunity to let our paths cross and to teach us how to smile for we never once saw him without a smile.
He lived the life, he lived what and who he believed in and that is Christ. To his family and friends, Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning, we will meet him again one day soon in the heavenly Canaan where we'll see a smiling Pawee seated at the banquet table so hold on my friends hold on.
May you find peace rest and comfort in the loving arms of Jesus .
From the Jemmott family.

My deepest condolences on the passing of your father/grandfather. I will remember him as a friendly, go out of his way to make your day pleasant person. He selflessly gave of himself and on more than 1 occasion baked his famous "Scantleberry" bread for my family. We were devastated to learn of his passing! Our thoughts are with you during this trying time.

A piece of me is missing; not long ago I've had
A voice to say, "Good morning" a prayer "Good night" from 'dad'.
We've spent much time together, though it seems like yesterday,
To see your smile, to hear your voice the wind just took away.
But not too long, I'll find you, in memories of long ago,
Until that day in glory, when missing will be no more.
Sincerest sympathies to Annetta, Elfrida, Troy, Tonya and the entire family circle from Peter A. Gibson.

Life is but a stopping place. A pause in what's to be. A resting place along the road. To sweet Eternity.
We all have different journeys. Different paths along the way.
We all were meant to learn some things. But never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place, far greater than we know. For some the journey's quicker. For some slow.
But when the journey finally ends. We claim a great reward. And find an everlasting peace. Together with the Lord.
To our dearest Bro. Elridge Scantlebury children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and the rest of his family. My mom Sis. Hyacinth Golding and I will miss him. Such a kind and loving man always smiling and ready to give a hug.
Matthew 5:14.
Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.
