Obituary of Mrs. Jean Lee-Chan

With great sadness, the Lee-Chan family announces the peaceful passing of their beloved mother, Jean (Mehoy) Lee-Chan (Ng Chung-Tack); on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Scarborough Health Network - Birchmount Site, in her 97th year.

Predeceased by her loving husband, Stephen, in 1999.  Proud mother of Gordon (Delma), Allan (Eileen), Anthony (Michele), Dennis, and Susanne (Paul);  Much loved grandmother of Valerie (John), Jeffrey, Christina (TingTing), and Stephanie. Cherished great-grandmother of Ava, Leo, and Jack.  

Predeceased by her beloved sisters, Yvonne and Rosemary, and her precious nephew, Randy.  Jean will be sadly missed by her brothers David (Charito), Michael and Winston (Angela); her nephews Steven, Gary, Christopher, Brian, Davey, Gregory; her nieces Cathy, Donna and Stacie; her great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as many other family members and friends.  

Jean was born in the city of Toisan, Guangdong province in China on December 8, 1925.  She emigrated to Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies, at the age of nine, and was married at nineteen. Her five children were born and brought up in Trinidad. All her children emigrated to Canada.  Jean and her husband Stephen joined them later, where her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were born.  She was a lively, hardworking, loving and caring person.  

Her legacy will live on in all the people her life touched. Loving memories last forever.

Jean’s family thanks you for your sympathy and condolences. In the interest of Covid safety and precaution, her funeral will be private.
