Gladys May Henry (nee Smith)

 

Mrs. Gladys May Henry (nee Smith) went home to Jesus peacefully in the hospital, on Tuesday December 7th, 2021 at age 95.

 

Gladys was born to Ms. Adina Mcintyre and Mr. James Alexander Smith on May 20th, 1926, and birth certificate date on June 9th, 1926 at One (1) Pink Lane in Kingston, Jamaica.

 

Gladys met her husband, Clinton (deceased) in the late 1950’s. They married on December 13th, 1980 and went on to have three (3) children, Robert (deceased) Michelle and Sharon. They also raised their grandchildren: Winston, Angela (Carol) and Deron, along with their nieces Sandra and Diana.

 

With sponsorship from her eldest son Albert (Dilly) and his wife Vida, for which she continually expressed her gratitude.

 

Gladys emigrated to Canada on Saturday September 29th, 1979 at the age of 53 with

her three (3) youngest children, to build a better life for her family.

 

In addition to being a dedicated and loving daughter/mother/sister/aunt/grandmother/

great grandmother/great great grandmother, and a lifelong friend.

 

Gladys also loved cooking, traveling, and sharing her wisdom. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

 

Gladys joins her parents, husband, son, cousins, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-laws and many ancestors in Heaven.

 

She is survived by sister Isaline, daughter Gloria (Cherry), son Albert (Dilly), daughters Michelle (Minette) and Sharon. Nine (9) grandchildren, fourteen (14) great-grandchildren, fifteen (15) great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and life long friends Ms. Merl Pyrce, Ms. Faye Lewis, Mrs. Norma Spence, and many more.
