Mr. Allan Mattason

Obituary of Mr. Allan Mattason

Please share a memory of Mr. Allan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

June 30, 1920 – February 14, 2018

Born in Hamilton, Ontario, passed away in Scarborough. In his 98th year, with family by his side, he passed away peacefully to join his sweetheart, Joan (O’Brien), on Valentine’s Day.

Pre-deceased by his parents, Joseph Lawrence and Anne Elizabeth (Flaherty).  Survived by brother (Don).

His passing has left a huge void in the lives and hearts of his two daughters (Margaret and Joanne), son in law (Gary), and his most loved grandsons (Matthew and Dylan) who meant the world to him.  Grampa was their hero.  He was a very soft spoken man with a heart of gold.  We will never forget the wonderful man you were and we are so blessed to have had you in our lives for as long as we did.  Rest in Peace.

A proud Veteran having served in The Royal Canadian Air Force in World War II.  A very special thanks to Veterans Affairs Canada.  Through the many services you provide, you gave him his independence to continue living on his own, something that was so important to him and for that we are very grateful.

Loving Uncle Al to many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Princess Margaret Foundation would be appreciated by the family
