Mr. Paul Hurrell

Obituary of Mr. Paul Hurrell

Please share a memory of Mr. Paul to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

HURRELL, Paul Douglas (May 3, 1933 to February 5, 2018) passed away at home, surrounded by love. Determined and dignified to the end, his characteristic humour, affection, generosity and warmth of spirit will be forever cherished by the family he adored: Judy (née Brown), his wife of 56 years and his dearest friend; his four much-loved children, Karen Sullivan (Max), Kathy Cameron (Kevin), Jeff Hurrell (Sabrina) and Karol Allen (Joe); and 12 grandchildren who could (usually) do no wrong: Cole, Kyla, Luke, Meg, Tristyn, Katie, Ethan, Marcus, Emma, Ben, Charlie and Leah, all of whom have embraced his sense of fun and irascible wit, his staunch work ethic, his kindness and optimism, and his appreciation of the little things that make a life so full. He also leaves behind a terrified population of garden squirrels, an immaculate lawn, formidable recycling and dishwasher-loading drills, a host of unforgettable memories, and a huge hole in the lives of those who knew him. Friends are welcome to visit Ogden Funeral Home on Thursday February 8 (2–4pm and 7–9pm): 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, M1S 1T3. In lieu of flowers, Paul’s family would welcome donations to the Women’s Auxiliary’s Bravery Bead Program at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, supporting the courage of children.
