Raymond Walter MADDEN B.Sc., PhDApril 27, 1924 - September 27, 2016Ray passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side; age 92 and 5 months. He was born in Preesall, England and immigrated to Canada in December 1966, followed by his family in August 1967. He is survived by Dorothy, his loving wife of 57 years, his children Timothy (Carmen), Helen (Danny), Fiona (Ralph) and Edward (Jackie) and his ten grandchildren: Spencer, Joshua, Nolan, Robyn, Alanna, Chloe, Austin, Hannah, Oakley and Ryder. Predeceased by his parents Lodge and Blanche Madden, his brother Maurice and his sister Phyllis. Ray proudly served his country with the British Armed Forces during World War II, returning home to do his educational studies at the University of London, England. His career included chemical research, private industry and technical teaching, followed by 22 years as a lecturer at Ryerson University. Ray was an avid gardener, loved classical music and rug hooking, watching old films and documentaries and solving intriguing puzzles, both number and word.The family will receive friends at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Agincourt, on Friday, September 30th from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral Service to be held at ST. TIMOTHY'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 4125 Sheppard Avenue East, Agincourt, on Saturday, October 1st at 11 a.m.
