Obituary of Donald Jaynes

JAYNES, Donald Cameron - May 1, 1925 - March 30, 2014 Passed away quietly at home in his bed, on March 30, 2014 at the age of 88. A longtime resident of Toronto, where Don and his wife Barbara raised their three children. His mother, Olive Dugan married his father, Cameron Jaynes in December 1920. Don's parents began their early family life on a humble Warkworth farm. The work ethic instilled on the farm served him well for a lifetime. Both a hard worker and a quick study, young Donald adapted well to his chosen trade as a precision tool and die maker. He and Barbara began their own young family in small town Sutton. There, they ran their oil business and were tireless contributors to the community, particularly through Kinsmen centered activities. A naturally gifted storyteller, possessed of an innate sense of humour, Don loved to laugh and to share laughter. He took great joy in sharing his own stories, always painting a vivid picture that reflected his personal experiences. He is survived by his wife Barbara (nee Bickmore), his son Mark (Becky) and daughters Donna (Terry) and Elva. Grandfather of Karsten, Kathryn, Kelsey, Tristan, Abbie, Jamie and Candace. He also leaves his half-siblings Cameron, Murray and Doreen Mabel. Predeceased by sister Doreen Christina and brother Leo. Will be also be missed by nieces Debra and Jody and many friends.
