Obituary of Mrs. Odette Margaret Maharaj
In Loving Memory of Odette Maharaj
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Odette Maharaj, who entered into eternal rest after a life richly blessed by faith, family, and God's grace.
Odette was born on April 18, 1941, on Columbus Street in Arima, Trinidad, the beloved third child of eight, a daughter to Joseph and Lydia Mathura.
From her earliest days, she was surrounded by the love of family and nurtured in a strong foundation of faith that would guide her throughout her life.
A devoted Catholic, Odette lived her life anchored in prayer and trust in God.
She found comfort and joy in her faith and was a faithful witness to God's goodness through both life's blessings and challenges.
Odette was a loving mother to her two sons, Deano and Dario, whom she cherished deeply. She was also a proud and devoted grandmother to Jorden and Madison, and a loving great-grandmother to Koen, who brought her immense joy.
She found great happiness in cooking and baking for those she loved. She enjoyed spending time with family, praying for others, watching sports, and sharing conversations and laughter with her many friends and siblings.
Her kindness, generosity, and loving presence touched all who knew her.
Odette was blessed with a long life surrounded by the love of family and friends.
As we mourn her passing, we take comfort in the promise of the Resurrection and know that she has been welcomed into the loving embrace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
May she now enjoy the eternal peace and joy of God's heavenly kingdom.
"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your master." — Matthew 25:23
May the soul of Odette Maharaj, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
