Obituary of Mr. David Pompey Azana

Please share a memory of Mr. David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of David Pompey Azana, who departed this life on June 12, 2026, at the age of 35.

David was a beloved son, father, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend whose presence brought strength, laughter, and love to all who knew him. He was the cherished son of Angela Pompey and William Azana, and a devoted brother to Shantel and Olivia.

Above all else, David’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being a father. He leaves behind his beloved children, Caiden, Nyah and Azaria, whom he loved with all his heart. His love for them was unwavering, and they remained the center of his world.

David had a deep passion for basketball. The game was more than a hobby—it was a way of life. Whether he was playing, watching, talking about the game, or supporting others through it, basketball brought him happiness and connected him with countless people throughout his life.

He is lovingly remembered by his aunts and uncles, including Aunt Pepeta, Aunt Quppy, Uncle Bryan, Uncle Earl, and Uncle Kirk. He also leaves behind many cherished cousins, including Tasheba, Gabre, Benj, Meeshak, Neisha, Meeka, Michael, Sarah, Nina, Angel, Courtney, Matthew Andrew, Triston, Ashton, Shanice, Vanessa, Jasmine, Isaiah, Elijah, Chelsea, Kaliyah, Elaine,  and many many other cousins, relatives and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and spirit.

David will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his children, his passion for basketball, and the impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on forever.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Rest in peace, David. Your legacy lives on in the hearts of your family, friends, and all those whose lives you touched.
