Obituary of Mr. Arcadio Magnaye

Please share a memory of Mr. Arcadio to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Arcadio Magnaye, lovingly known as Carding, 81 years of age who passed away suddenly on May 22, 2026 in Etobicoke, Ontario.

Carding was born in Batangas City, Philippines to Luis and Fortunata Magnaye. Carding was the eldest of eleven children. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Corazon, Romulo, Avelina, Mercedita, Redante, Emiliano, Teodosia, Nolasco, Marites and Rosalie. He was Kuya and Tito to many and will be remembered by his nieces and nephews and extended family.

Carding was a devoted husband to Heidi and shared 52+ years of marriage and relationship. Together they immigrated to Canada and created a life built on hard work, promise and devotion. He was a proud father to his son Angelo and his partner, Lee and to his daughter, Maricor and son in law, Robert. Carding was a doting Lolo and he will be fondly remembered by his grandsons, Rowan and Mason whom he was extremely proud of.

Carding was known for his hard-working ethic and worked as a skilled heavy-duty mechanic until his retirement for CN Railway. He was a great provider and was known for his kindness and endless generosity and was always willing to help family and friends. And because of him, we are here today.

Carding will be so lovingly remembered for his big smile, his love for all foods, his curious mind on any topic, his love of fishing, cars and watching tennis, baseball and late-night Filipino shows.

Rest in peace, Dad. You worked hard, loved fondly, and lived with quiet honour. We will carry you with us, always - Love, Bong and Cor

A private family service will take place on Sunday May 31. We invite you to join us virtually via livestream.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carding, may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
