ABOUT WILFRED

Born on October 14, 1944 in Hopetown Village, Berbice, Guyana, he built a life defined by dedication to family, community, and service. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted partner of 30 years, Gwenette, his daughter Ayanna, Ayanna’s spouse Robert, and his daughter Melene. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Mari and Blair and surviving siblings, Patrick, Avril, Norma, Sherlia, Irene and Godfrey, whom he cared for dearly.

As a Professional Mechanical Engineer, he was deeply committed to his work with Ontario Hydro and Ontario Power Generation, and devoted many years of service as secretary of the Hopetown Association. He was very social, loved watching cricket, and thrived in community settings, always showing up with a generous spirit and a strong sense of responsibility. Education and entrepreneurship were very important to him, and he believed in seizing opportunities to better oneself.

As a dedicated father, uncle, and grandfather, he took special care to support his nephews, helping them build strong foundations for success. He encouraged inquisitiveness, asking questions, staying curious about life, travelling, and keeping family connections strong. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the lives he touched, and the love he shared with all those around him. We are thankful for all the love and support of everyone during this time.
