I’m really saddened to hear of Owen’s passing. I was a neighbour on Benton Cres, a friend of Yohance’s and remember that time in my life fondly. I always felt welcome in Owen’s home. Thinking about it now, I’m sure I came around a lot more than he wanted at the time - but he never showed it! He was a lovely man, a great father, a warm neighbour, and I know he’ll be missed. RIP

Owen and I became fast friends when we started work together in ‘78. He had the rare ability to always make me feel good about our conversations and experiences through the years. I miss him already. Deepest sympathy to his family and many friends. I’m proud to be a f.o.o.l.

My deepest sympathy to the Leslie Family on the passing of Owen. As one of the music selectors of Soulville Disco his selections were always on point with the atmosphere of the gathering and we were kept on our feet. You had to be well versed in current affairs to argue with him on any given topic or else you'd be left hanging. He had a knack for jokes and there was never a dull moment around him. I am going to miss you my good friend, your wit and humor always solicit a good laugh. I'm going to miss those conversation we used to have where we discussed music, and politic, family and friends and all topics in between.
