Obituary of Mrs. Marvyn Ersulieth Goodridge
Celebrating the life of Marvyn Ersulieth Goodridge
January 25, 1944 – February 1, 2026
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our matriarch Marvyn Goodridge on Sunday February 1, 2026 at the age of 82 – a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, mother-in-law, and friend. She passed away peacefully in hospital, surrounded by her family.
Marvyn was born in Barbados and in her 20s she made the bold decision to immigrate to Canada to start a new a life.
She made friends easily and had enduring close friendships ranging from some who knew her from the age of 5, to some she gained from her many years working at Bell Canada, to those more recently from her church family.
She never shied away from giving you her honest opinion, and she was fiercely loyal to those who were special to her.
Her two sons, who were her pride and joy, were always shown her unwavering love and support, whether it was by taking one of them to endless soccer games and practices, or eagerly anticipating and preparing for annual visits from the other one.
Always up for a party in her younger years, she especially loved summer around Caribana time, or to simply go bargain hunting on the weekends with her late mother.
She also loved her extended family and visited them often overseas to reconnect or support them for their special events.
In her latter years she became quite an accomplished baker, and many can attest to her skills as her annual calls to friends and family to pick up their Christmas Black cake, cassava pone and sweet bread were eagerly anticipated every year.
She loved watching and talking to her friends about the Young & The Restless, and 6:30pm was appointment time with Judge Judy.
Despite health challenges in recent years she never gave up.
Marvyn had a feisty spirit, enjoyed life to the fullest and cherished every day.
She is predeceased by her parents Colin and Mignon Bayley, her brother Basil, sister Coral, and her great nephew Shaquan Patrick-Watson.
She is survived by her two sons Marc and Kevin, her brother Winston, sisters-in-law Marjorie, Anne, Judi, Cecily and Jennifer, daughters-in-law Nicole and Joanne, nephews - Brian, Roger, Antonio, Dane, nieces – Shelly Ann, Jodi and her seven grandchildren – Sashuanna, Xandria, Micah, Maya, Kaliyah, Jaelyn, and Kamari.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider making a donation to The Kidney Foundation of Canada in her honor.
Her loss is immeasurable. She will always be forever loved and deeply missed.
Until we meet again “Honeysuckle Rose”
