Obituary of Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Sewell

Dorothy Elizabeth Sewell, 106, of Etobicoke, died peacefully June 6, 2025 in her residence at Shepherd Terrace, Scarborough.

She was born February 19, 1919, to Clarence Ritchie and Dollella Green in Thorah, Ontario. Dorothy moved to Longbranch, working as a nanny, and attending Shaw Business School in the evening completing a Stenography course in July 1942.

Dorothy had a wonderful marriage of 60 years to William Sewell.

Dorothy worked in Eatons in the hosiery department on Queen Street (Toronto) and at several jobs including City Chesterfield Frames as a bookkeeper. She had a keen eye for details and finances, to her final days.

Dorothy is survived by her sister June, nieces and nephews, Ron, Dorothy Mae, Phyllis, Bradley, Barry, Elaine, Joanne, Lorne and Lynn, 23 great, and many great, great nieces and nephews.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Bill, brother Jack, sisters Muriel, Agnes and Iris, nephew Randal, and niece Marilyn.

Dorothy spent 35 winters at Holiday Park in North Port FL, with many wonderful friends and family. She was a caring friend to many neighbours and family, wonderful cook and loved nature and gardening.

We will miss her amazing positive attitude and smile.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday September 27, 2025 at Ogden Funeral Home 2:00-4:00 pm.
