Please share a memory of Steve to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Traianos “Steve” Sapountzis passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born on July 22, 1935 in Kelli, Florina, Greece. He is survived by his loving daughter, Chrisoula, and will be forever missed by his adoring granddaughter, Evangelia and his brother, Kyriakos.
He is predeceased by his father Michail, his mother Zaharia (nee Beltsidis), and his siblings Andromache, Athanasios, Kostantinos and Paschalis. He is now reunited with his precious infant daughter, Zaharia, and his cherished wife, Evangelia.
Traianos emigrated to Canada in 1965 to make a better life for himself and his wife. He worked in a factory, a tannery and did residential property renovation before establishing himself as a restaurateur. He loved the arts, watching hockey and the news, and took great joy in cooking and gardening. His Greek Orthodox faith and Greek culture were of great importance to him. Everyone knew him for his wit, sense of humour, generosity and caring nature. As a husband, father and grandfather, his love knew no bounds. He was utterly devoted to his wife, was incredibly close with his daughter, and doted on his granddaughter with immeasurable joy.
He will be sorely missed by those who knew him, but his spirit will live on in those whom he held so dear.
