James retired from the Waterloo Regional District School Board where he also made many friends.

James was best known for his kindness. He believed that all people deserve to be loved, regardless of their job title, money in the bank, or clothes on their back. He made and had friends from all walks of life. Whether it was politics or any other topic, he could hold his own in any conversation. He loved to challenge ideas, share his opinions, and, truthfully, win an argument or two. It was one of the things that made him so uniquely him. James also loved traveling with his wife, they have travelled over 72 countries together.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Scarborough Health Network/Centenary Hospital who provided compassionate care for James during his short time there. A special recognition to Dr. Ray Guo for his exceptional empathy, warmth and dedication in care.

James favourite prayer in hard times was the Serenity prayer and today would be no different for us.

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

Funeral service will be held back home in Renfrew in the spring . More details to follow
