COPE (Creating Opportunities for Personal Excellence) is a unique community-based mental health service provided by Community Care Durham (CCD) that offers group support to adults aged 16 and older, with emotional and/or mental health concerns. Established in 1976, our goal is to assist clients to remain in their community, to function as effectively as possible, and maximize their quality of life.

Joanne's House is a 13 bed shelter for male and female youth ages 16 to 24. Services include meals and food cupboard, clothing, shower and washroom facilities, assistance obtaining benefits, access to telephone and internet and advocacy negotiating the social service system *access to other services including: family re-connection nutrition education hygiene education mental health counselling nursing services physician services pregnancy counselling parenting education addiction counselling life skills education job readiness and job skills education anger and stress management education transportation to services **COVID-19 service change: Reduced to 8 bed facility until further notice**
