Shirley Ione Harris

Shirley Ione Harris, age 72 was born in St. Michael, Barbados to the late Sybil Holder and Ruben Jones. Later in her young adult life she immigrated to Canada, where she worked as domestic help before working at Simpsons and later The Bay – Queen Street, as a sales clerk up until retirement. She loved to cook, sew, bake and participate in various church organisations and activities. Sadly shortly after her retirement she was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer disease. The progression of the disease would eventually deprive her of the ability to enjoy the many activities she loved to do. She passed away on Monday April 17, 2017 with her husband of 46 years, Lyburn Harris by her side. She is the beloved mother of Erwin Harris, Felicia Harris-Great and Matthew Harris. Dearest Grandmother to Andrew Harris. Sister of Junia Joseph; Rupert and the late Eric King; Calvin, Emerson, Grafton, Clyde, Oswin, Lloyd and Terry Holder. Sister-in-Law to Sandra Holder, Bernard Joseph; Jenney Holder and Denise Holder; the late Beulah Griffith; Phyllis Williams; Monica, Elvina, Emerson, Michael, Leroy, Colvin, Randolph, and David Harris. Aunt to Michelle Greenidge-Wurster, Keisha Greenidge, Tonya Amegah, Sean Holder, Shamar Brown, Sherry-Ann Maynard and many more. Mother-in-law to Emeka Great. Relative to the Harris, Holder, Worrell, Wellengton, King, Odwin, Taylor and David Families. Friend to the Searles, Beckles, Coombes, Williams, Elcock families and many others.
