June was such a lovely woman. I remember there always being a gift for me at my Grandmother's house at Christmas from her - typically a book or two she had seen that she thought I'd like - and her cards were almost always the first to arrive each holiday season. On April 21, 2016, June gave me a beautiful wooden plaque with these words: "A cousin is a playmate who grows up to be a forever friend." Those words have never meant more to me than they do today. June, thank you for your kindness, your thoughtfulness, and for the wonderful memories we shared over the years. You truly were more than a cousin—you were a forever friend. I will always treasure that gift because every time I read it, I will think of you and the special place you hold in my heart. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
