Our family was so privileged and blessed to have had Pastor Upton and his family as our pastors in Bethel church Ottawa for 17 years. He and his wife were such wonderful mentors and examples of Godly people especially to all the young people in the church. He was very special to my family. He will never be forgotten and always loved. Doreen (Johnston) Harrod

Condolences to Judy, Linda and families on the passing of your dear father and grandfather. He will be missed greatly by many. I had the privilege of having Pastor Upton at Bethel and Portico churches. I can hear his piano playing and what an accomplishments pianist! Not to mention the amazing Bible taught sermons. May God comfort you all in your time of sorrow.

I would like to extend my condolences to Judy and Linda (and families) on the passing of your Dad. He will always be Pastor Upton to our family. My pastor in Ottawa, Bethel. I grew up under his leadership and guidance. He married us and that was 51 years ago! He totally shaped my commitment to Christ and was someone I looked up to in my formative years and beyond. There aren’t too many great men of that caliber in this world ! He was so humble but he will have many crowns now!

My heartfelt sympathy to the family. I have known Pastor. Upton as far back as 1950 when he first came to Calvary Temple- before he married Aileen. He was dearly loved in Calvary Temple, and Roy Upton was our pastor in Kitchener , Ontario. I remember one Christmas, Gordon, Aileen, Roy and Maisie had dinner with us in our home in Kitchener. Wonderful memories! Betty-Ruth Reimer ( nee Gillies) May God comfort you at this time

Both Aileen & Rev Upton have blessed me life and ministry. When I began as a young Evangelist in an unfamiliar ministry world, their constant encouragement made my road life tremendously better! Enjoyed a great visit with him last year and will cherish the memories for a lifetime. My condolences to the Upton family.

To Pastor Upton’s family members, please accept our heartfelt condolences and prayers for you at this time. Our hearts are also saddened at the passing of Pastor Upton, since he held a very special place in our lives. On Christmas Eve, 1966, he not only conducted our wedding, but also hosted our wedding supper in his own home, served by caterers in his dining room. We were in Ottawa, having travelled from Newfoundland, to work and save money to continue my then fiancée’s University degree in St. John’s the following September. Pastor and Mrs. Upton wholeheartedly accepted us into Bethel and into their lives, besides my father, who was also a Pastor, but sick at the time. Very precious memories, and much love were shared between us all. But it won’t be long before we all meet again, in the presence of the Lord.
